Paper Flowers – JH May July 09 Projects

Among many of our ongoing projects, one in particular we are currently working on is a project for Chanel which consists of paper flowers.

The flowers vary in style, and include carnations, peonies, daisies and lilies. Some of the styles are simple, with only a few large petals joined in the centre, with others being very intricately detailed with many layers of petals and using different ways of folding and joining them.

The various pieces that were required for the construction of each type of flower were laser cut from sheets of white paper. Once these were cut we were then able to begin joining the petals, some of the petals required scoring in order for them to curl over.

As a majority of our customers require fast turnaround orders, we have taken on extra staff to aid in the completion of this particular job, as the quantity was higher than our usual order amount.

Another of the projects being worked on at the moment is an exhaust finisher for McLaren. These stainless steel exhaust covers are modified from castings, they are then polished to a high standard and the final stage is for them to be masked and painted.

The painting is done in our own spray booth as this provides an even finish, we have found many of our customers regard the aesthetics of their order to be highly important, using the spray booth produces a finish to a high standard. This also enables us to create specific colours to the customer’s requirements.
