The architectural model of a grain dryer we have been working on has now been completed. Our client will be using this as the centerpiece of their stand at a major trade fair in Germany. The deadline was critical and time had to be allowed for shipping abroad in time for the exhibition.
As the entire model was very large, approximately 1metre in each dimension, a custom-made flight case also had to be produced in order to ensure safe transit to Germany. This will protect the clear acrylic cover that encased the model from scratches, and will also guarantee it is kept upright throughout the delivery. We created this model from the customer’s 2D CAD data, and used this to produce 3D model data from which we CNC machined individual elements of the model to use in the final assembly.
Since the size of our paint booth has been increased to enable us to spray much larger parts, our model makers were able finish this model in-house by using our own paint shop.
Having the capabilities and facilities to complete projects entirely within our own premises allows us to achieve tighter deadlines without relying on subcontractor’s lead times. Many of our customers require their models within a short turnaround due to exhibitions, award ceremonies and even television advertising slots.
